The International Board of Sexuality Professionals (IBOSP) is a professional membership and certification organization dedicated to creating a collegial, professional “home” for mental health and medical clinicians, educators and researchers who are dedicated to creating pathways into the future of integrative sexuality.

IBOSP is dedicated the safety and wellbeing of the public at large and takes every measure to ensure that IBOSP members a fully vetted and meet the highest standards of care. We understand the power dynamics and the intimate, sensitive and nuanced nature of our field and keep it at the forefront of all we do to  ensure the safety, welfare, protection and rights of all.

All IBOSP members must agree to attest to and abide by the following:

IBOSP members agree to Uphold and promote IBOSPs Bylaws, Mission, Purposes, and Vision.

IBOSP members certified by state or governance must also agree to abide by Professional Practice Guidelines relevant to their professional certifications, and their professional practice in the field of sexuality will be governed by IBOSP’s Code of Conduct.

IBSOP members shall commit to fostering a culture that incorporates the values of social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

IBSOP members shall undertake continuous efforts to develop and expand their competence in the field of sexuality, and practice only within the boundaries of their competence, education and training.

IBOSP members shall ensure that they take appropriate measures to do no harm to those that they educate, treat, and serve.

IBOSP supports the highest standards of ethics and professionalism in research, education, and clinical practice of sexual health, and offers the public accurate information about sexual health and in so being IBSOP members agree to present themselves and credentials to the public in accordance with IBOSP’s criteria:

IBOSP members shall avoid false, deceptive or misleading statements related to training, qualifications and IBOSP certification status in all media forms to include social media, personal and professional websites, directory listings, personal resumes, curricula vitae, publications, written literature, speaking engagements etc.

IBOSP members that are IBOSP board certified may advertise and present themselves to the public using their respective IBOSP certification designation and logo.
