Her outstanding achievements have been prominently featured in renowned media platforms, including the esteemed New York Times. Currently, she takes a prominent role in promotional endeavors and videos for The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau, actively showcasing Fort Lauderdale as an inviting and all-embracing destination. 

 

Embarking on a transformative journey, Misty’s evolution as a passionate advocate for self-improvement and community welfare led her to shift her focus from entertainment to social services. This pivotal transition was driven by her resolute commitment to amplifying the voices of marginalized individuals and expanding her own horizons through education. Her entry into SunServe in 2015 marked a significant turning point as she played a pivotal role in conceptualizing and launching the LGBTQ Diversity Equity and Inclusion Proficiency Training Program. Simultaneously, she assumed the role of a case manager for transgender clients, effectively bridging connections to critical resources including biomedical prevention, mental health counseling, and essential services. This unwavering dedication propelled her ascent to directorship over three crucial departments: Education and Training, Transgender Services, and Women’s Services.  

 

Adding to her already impressive journey, in 2019, she took a decisive step by redirecting her attention from entertaining to re-entering the world of higher education. Her dedication to this pursuit remained steadfast. Following the completion of her MBA at Florida Atlantic University, she chose to deepen her expertise and insights by enrolling in the executive master’s in healthcare administration program.  She is expected to graduate with her EMHA in May 2024.  This academic endeavor exemplifies her unyielding commitment to perpetual growth and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. 

 

Misty’s presence in the entertainment sphere has been an enduring force in South Florida since she set roots in 2001. Renowned as a compelling emcee, she has graced South Florida’s most distinguished occasions including the Stonewall Street Festival and Pride Parade from 2005 to 2019, as well as the recurring Wicked Manors Block Party since its inception in 2007. Misty’s on-stage persona radiates both glamour and allure, captivating audiences with her dynamic charm. A versatile talent, she excels in domains such as artistry, modeling, journalism, hosting, and mentorship, while standing as a trusted friend and role model within the South Florida community.
